Google, with the intent to make files search on Google Drive more user-friendly, is all in readiness to add a tiny new feature to its cloud storage and file backup service, the Google Drive. The new feature will make file search more easier than now so that you can quickly locate and access the files you need to work upon. With the new upgrade, you will be able to search files effortlessly by using parameters like file type, word count, etc.
Of course, you can sort and search files even now; but then, it isn’t all that fast, secure and helpful when trying to amass documents stored at different locations. With the new feature, you can open advanced search directly from the search box and use 3D Touch of your iOS device to search Google Drive directly from the homescreen.
Along with the new feature, several out-of-sight improvements will be made by Google to provide you with better search results for your queries.
Moreover, you will easily get more specific search results by using advanced search options like searching the files by the date the file was last modified, with whom the file may have been shared, and also by using the words in the file.
Shared files can be searched using the credentials of their owner, like their name or email address.
The new feature will be available for the Web, Android and iOS users. Google will also permit deep linking for iOS users to let them perform searches directly from the iOS search bar.
Google, however, hasn’t said a word about the exact release date of the update, but it can arrive anytime in the following weeks. If you are a keen Google Drive app user then keep looking for an app update which can be out anytime soon.
