WhatsApp has come up with great news for users who have the habit of texting someone and mistakenly sending it to other person and then repenting later. The messaging client is reportedly testing a feature that will allow them to edit or revoke WhatsApp messages that are already sent. This will allow them to change messages before their contacts read them and escape from embarrassment.

The new feature was initially spotted on Twitter by account @WABetaInfo, which keeps track of features that WhatsApp tests across various platforms.

As we all know, WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging clients across the globe. Millions of people use the messaging client to communicate with their friends, all thanks to the ease of use and a plethora of features it offers. However, one thing that is missing from the client for a long time is that you can’t edit or recall messages that you have already sent to your contacts. This causes a problem when you accidentally text someone not meant to know what you were saying and end up being embarrassed in front of others. Well, the new WhatsApp feature will resolve the issue up to a major extent as now you can easily recall or edit sent messages.

However, there is a condition for the WhatsApp revoke feature to work. You can only edit or revoke unread messages. If the recipient has already read your sent messages, the feature will no longer work and you can revoke WhatsApp messages sent to your contacts. You can easily figure out whether your message has been read or not by a blue tick mark.

However, all these features are still in beta testing and we don’t know which one will see the light of the day. Anyways, we’ll get to know when they will be rolled out in upcoming updates. Till then stay tuned with us.
