No, it’s not a typographical mistake and neither are you suffering from any kind of delusional episode. It’s, in fact, true that Pepsi, the popular cold drink company is going to enter the electronics market with its first smartphone launch which may be known as Pepsi P1. Speculations are being made that the company will uncover all the specs about the smartphone on 20th of the ongoing month.
Cold drink vendor PepsiCo has recently announced that they will be producing their own smartphones in the upcoming months; however, no official statement is made about the debutant. The phone is rumoured to be known as Pepsi P1 and will cost around $200.
The Daily Mail report predicted that the debutant will feature a large 5.5-inch screen capable of displaying images and videos at 1080 pixels and will supposedly feature a fingerprint scanner to enhance its security. The phone will possibly come with a 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP secondary camera, both of which you can use to complete your shoot sessions.
Following the ongoing trend in the smartphone market, the phone will run Android OS; probably Lollipop. The gadget is supposed to be powered by MediaTek’s MT6592 SoC processor which will facilitate the device to process your commands with a clock rate of 1.7 GHz and probably be backed by a 3,000 mAh lithium-ion battery.
Pepsi phone was first spotted by Tech blog Mobipicker on a Chinese Weibo page and is supposed to be exclusively available in the Chinese market from the following week.
The leak has already made a headline in the mobile community and it will be undoubtedly interesting to see the popular food and drink company entering into the smartphone niche. Though the chances are slim, but maybe the company is looking to endorse its phone and drink together in their next advertisement.
Well, that will be of course interesting to watch!!
